A local affiliate of the Virginia State Reading Association (VSRA) and the International Reading Association (IRA), the Monticello Reading Council is committed to promoting literacy and best practices in literacy education, Pre-K to college and beyond. Our members are active and retired reading specialists, classroom teachers, administrators, university professors, and friends of reading and literacy in Charlottesville City, and Albemarle, Buckingham, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa, Madison and Orange counties.

As a first step to building a strong organization, the MRC Governing Board wants to ensure that everyone is well represented and involved. As an MRC representative, you will facilitate communication with members in your area and have the opportunity to assist with organizational planning.
